A downloadable game for Windows

You play as a feline escape artist named Putty. She and her brother travel all over the country to perform on stage. One day, however, Putty's little brother gets kidnapped by a new gang of dogs called the Bad Dogs. It's up to Putty to save her brother and get the heck out of there!

You need to be stealthy and hide from the dogs. If you leave your hiding spot, they WILL chase you, so be careful! It's also recommended that you interact with the pink objects in the room to finally reach the basement of the dogs' hideout.

This a game fully made within 2 weeks starting from Jan 7 to Jan 21 2017 for the My First Game Jam: Winter 2017. All tile sets, sprite sheets and programming was done within the jam time.

Thanks for playing! If you find any bugs or issues, or would just like to leave some feedback in general, feel free to leave a review! Constructive criticism is very much appreciated. Enjoy!

Note: I am aware of some parallaxing issues, and am going to try my best to fix them, but the game is up now so I won't be late on the deadline.

UPDATE: I fixed a few minor things like spelling mistakes and such, so here's version 1.1.

EDIT: So it looks like I won't be able to fix the parallax problem since to do so, I would have to downres all the backgrounds and everything else, take the game completely appart and put it back together so it would be 1280×720 in RPG Maker MV. That...doesn't sound possible currently, so I'm going to have to leave it as is. Maybe I'll get back to it at some day, but I'm calling it done now. Sorry about that, folks.

Hold down Shift to run.
Press enter to interact. Interact with everything pink.
Hide behind boxes and furnature. If you leave the hiding spot, that dogs WILL chase you.

If you need to look at the controls again, you can find an item in your menu to do so.

What did you made this in?

Cool game dude.

Yeah I don't think I would have grasped the hiding behind boxes thing if you hadn't told me about them. Probably could have used some simple shadow visual thing to help think of it more abstractly. Thing with stealth games is that people usually assume it's realistic unless you have a bunch of gamey indicators letting you know if you're actually hidden or not.

Pink objects was a really good idea. Solid distraction scene with the mug. Though I did witness it "respawn" with the crashed mug and the existing mug being in the same time. Might have happened when switching maps or loading a save? Not sure.

Solid game for 2 weeks and first time rpgmaker user. Cutscenes were especially cute.

This was pretty rough going for me until I figured out how to use the boxes for hiding correctly. It was all worth it in the end for that Big Dog surprised face though!

Oh thanks! Im glad you enjoyed it! xD

The game seems interesting, but sadly, after the "How to Play Putty saves Goob" message, this happens:

undefined is not a function"

I tried downloading and extracting the .zip file again but it did not work, I don't know if that's just my computer, but oh well... ;w;

Oh? hm...let me look into it. Thanks so much for letting me know!

Hello again!

I just tested out the game by downloading it from here on itch, but I didn't run into this error after the message. You were talking about the one right after the intro, right? I'm asking because you can also check how to play the game if you look in your items menu. So far after the intro, it seems fine.

Regardless, I fixed a few minor things in the game like spelling mistakes and stuff, so try downloading it now, maybe it'll work this time? I have a friend that has also played the game, and he doesn't seem to have run into any errors after the intro, so I honestly have no idea what it could be. I'm sorry if its still not working. :(

Yes, that's the one! Thanks for trying to solve the problem, but it persists (I tried in three different computers). Maybe it's something I need to update? I have no idea honestly;; I'll probably wait for someone to make a Let's Play so I can see how the game is ><
